Activity 13: Christmastime

Craft 1: Go out into your backyard and find some pinecones [ Or buy them at a craft store.] Next get some glitter and glue out and roll your pinecones in glue, put some of the glitter in a bag, and put your pinecones that have glue on them in the bag [ make sure to seal it] and  shake the bag for a little while. Then let them dry and finally you will have some pretty decorations.

Craft 2: Draw a Christmas tree on a piece of paper. Then cut it out and glue down fun items as ornaments such as buttons, glitter, pieces of fabric, etc.

Lesson: Explain to your kid that Christmas has many traditions like Christmas trees and decorating the house with lights. Then ask them to name other Christmas traditions that you do. Finally go over what traditions other people celebrate.

Talk Together: Ask your kid what their favorite thing about Christmas is? If they were in charge of decorating for Christmas how would they decorate?

Activity: Add a little Christmas to your house with your kid. Then have your kid run around the house and when they see a decoration that is the color red or green let them shout out a fun Christmas word or song, encourage your kid to shout out a different word or song every time.
