Activity 10: Rocks

Craft: Draw one or two circles on a piece of paper, then put glue in the circle and sprinkle sand over it until the circles are covered. Next give the rocks names you can name them funny names like Rock Star or real names of rocks like ruby or marble.

Lesson: Tell your kid that sand is made of crushed rocks, tell them that rocks come from a lot of different places like caves or mountains. Ask your kid if they can think of any other place rocks come from. There are several different types of stone, rock, minerals, and diamonds in the world.

Talk Together: Name some types of rocks. [ Your kid may need help] How many rocks are in your backyard, 0, 10, 100, 1,000?

Activity: Make a poem about rocks.

Example: 

Rocks come in all different sizes,shapes, and colors 

Still they all look cool it is true

There are so many rocks everywhere

So look outside for rocks too!

Then say your own personal poem in your funniest voice possible.
