Activity 11: Circles and Spheres
Craft: Cut out about 5 different sized circles, then place them on a sheet of paper and try to make fun designs or pictures with the circles such as a heart, smily face, or planets. Finally, glue the circles on the paper when you have found your favorite design.
Lesson: Tell your kid that a circle is flat, round, and has no points or sides such as the circles you used for the craft. Say that spheres are round and not flat and also have no points or sides like a rubber ball. Then go around your house and look for spheres and circles.
Talk Together: How many points and sides do circles and spheres have? What other spheres and circles did you find?
Movement: Have your kid count about 10 balls and divide them into 2 groups [ Each group should have five balls.] Then spilt the room your going to play in with a jump rope or something else and put the five balls on each side and start music or a timer for a little while. Next roll the balls on to each others spot as fast as you can. Then when the timer or song stops you stop. Count the balls and whoever has the least amount wins.
