Activity 5: Leaves

Craft: Draw a trunk on a piece of paper, then with finger paints dot the tree with yellow, orange, and green paint. You can add other unique things to your picture   such as a sun, raindrops, glitter, etc. 

Lesson: Tell your kid that leaves have veins just like you, the veins in the leaves are like straws that give water to the leaf so it can get the water it needs to stay healthy just like your veins bring up and bring down blood to keep you healthy. Plants are green because of something in the leaves called chlorophyll, chlorophyll is simply the stuff that makes plants green.

Activity: Make a leaf collection of all the cool leaves you find by taping all the cool leaves you find on o a piece of paper. On top of each leave put the name of it or where you found it.

Movement: Take a couple pieces of paper and cut them into fours, then have your kid draw a picture of a leaf make some green and a couple brown ones. Put them around your house have your kid go run and search for them, see how fast your kid can find all of them.
