Activity 9: Rainbows
Craft: Make a crazy rainbow by drawing a rainbow on a piece of paper, then add stickers and decorative tape patterns to it or your own fun stuff and color rain drops on the background.
Lesson: Rainbows are what we see after it rains because water and sunlight are what rainbows are made out of. The colors of a rainbow will be red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Rainbows are also almost like air because you can move your hand right through one.
Talk Together: What are the colors of the rainbow? Have you ever seen one?
Activity: Find things around your house that are rainbow colors, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Then place them all together in a line and say a color for your kid to jump on.
Example: Red! Then have your kid jump on all the red items.
If the item is hard or would brake have your kid throw a stuffed animal at that color instead of jumping.
Songs or Rhymes: Sing the 6 rainbow colors to the tune of your choice.
